BIG ANALOG
XTR2.1 towers, MK2.1K Monoblocks, C12000 Preamp/Controller, MCD12000
Why It Works
The Ultimate McIntosh Stack.
Starting with the C12000 Preamp. This unit is comprised of both a controller and a preamplifier module, allowing for more discreet sound separation and giving you unprecedented control over the tonality of your listening experience.
Next, we have the MCD12000; A two channel SACD player, at the heart of which lie two Sabre ES9038PRO 32-bit/8-channel DACs, which are dedicated to one channel each.
We follow that up with the McIntosh 2.1kW Monoblocks. This stack comes with 2 Power modules with 1000 Watts of power per Module, bringing your total up to 2,000 watts of discrete power for your system at 2, 4, & 8 Ohms.
Finally, we bring you the XTR2.1 Towers, standing just a shade under 6’10"tall and weighing in at 354lbs. The XTR2.1 towers by McIntosh are rated at 2,000 watts of power, 8 ohms, and a 90 dB sensitivity. Designed for the ultimate in Musical soundstage, the speakers boast 75 total drivers in their line array, along with six 8-inch woofers and two 6.5-inch low-midrange drivers, making it perfect for listening in any spot in the room.
This system is connected by a pair of our Transparent Reference-level speaker cables, allowing for the purest listening experience on the Hifi Buys Flagship system.
COMPACT & MIGHTY
Sonus Faber Guarneri G5, Dan D’Agostino Pendulum Integrated, Mark Levinson No.5105 Turntable, Sonus Faber Gravis III
A mighty sounding system with a small footprint, perfect for any space, providing the best of both the Analog and digital worlds.
Why It Works
Kicking us off is the Dan D’Agostino Pendulum, a true work of art both aesthetically and technologically. This little guy packs a serious punch at 120 Watts per channel at 8 ohms and 240 watts at 4 ohms. The amp is equipped with multiple Balanced outputs along with a built-in streamer. You can also upgrade with a digital card in the back, allowing HDMI eARC connection for your TV for an immersive experience!
Our system is hooked up with a Mark Levinson No. 5105 turntable. This 75lb behemoth means business when it comes to the accuracy and tone of vinyl. The lightweight carbon fiber arm provides exceptional cartridge stability, making sure to keep your needle on the grooves to provide you with unparalleled detail. Additionally, this record player comes with built-in isolation feet that are and a bubble level to ensure your player stays level, increasing the overall soundstage.
All of this sound is reproduced through a combination of Sonus Faber’s Guarneri G5’s and a Gravis III subwoofer. Sonus Faber is known for its elegant design and sound. The Guarneri G5’s provide a surprising punch for bookshelf speakers. The original Guarneri’s were the first high-fidelity loudspeakers designed with the lute shape in mind, believing that the instrument-like shape brings a more natural sound to the equation. While these speakers can go as low as 40Hz, the Gravis III 10-inch driver provides a much more in-depth impact for the bass lovers out there, giving you a complete, harmonic system for any music listening experience.
THE FUTURE
Hifi Rose RS151, Wilson Audio Sasha V’s, Dan D’Agostino Momentum C2 Pre amplifier, Momentum M400 MxV Mono Blocks
Why It Works
A Window into the Artist’s Intent.
Starting, we have the Momentum C2 preamplifier, featuring Dan D’Agostino’s revolutionary four circuit topology, aiming to deliver uncompromising clarity and fi delity to every listening experience.
Next, we have the M400 MxV Monoblock. Coming in at 400 watts at 8 ohms, 800 at 4 ohms, and a whopping 1,600 at 2 ohms. Coupled with Venturi-style heatsinks for exemplary heat dispersion, allowing for nearly double the current drive to maximize the enhanced outputs, maximizing the already authoritative sound this system boasts
We follow that up with the Hifi Rose 151B streamer, with a 15.4-inch touch screen, balanced circuitry for XLR and HDMI eARC for 4K passthrough when watching your favorite music videos on the native “Rosetube” app on their equipment. This streamer is equipped with a Sabre ES9039PRO dac, allowing for high-fidelity streaming up to DSD512 and 32/768kHz’s. This streamer is the do-it-all piece everyone should have in their system.
Finally, a brand that could be considered the pinnacle of speaker craftsmanship. Wilson’s Sasha V’ tower speakers combine the traditional Wilson attributes, along with the authority of their upper echelon lineup, giving you a speaker that says “This is what right looks like” when it comes to respecting artist integrity on any musical track. Weighing in at 245lbs each and their innovative bracing system to eliminate internal cabinet resonance, these speakers sound much bigger than their frame would have you believe. Combining two 8-inch woofers in the bottom cabinet, along with a separate 7-inch midrange and a 1-inch tweeter, the top cabinet allows placement based on height, enabling customizable dispersion. You are guaranteed to get the best separation in sound to pick out each part of a track you adore.
We are proud to announce that this system is connected with the newest Audio Quest “Braveheart” cables, helping bring your musical catalog to life!
THE CLASSIC
Klipsch Cornwalls, MC275 tube power amp, C22 tube preamplifier, MT5 Turntable
Why It Works
This system provides a blast from the past. Combining Vintage sound and technology, with future components easily capturing the sound from the days of yore.
Starting with the MC275 tube power amplifier, this model has been tied to the McIntosh name since 1961, with each new iteration providing more fine-tuning than the last. The amp can be used in stereo at 75 watts per channel, or mono at 150 watts per channel at 2, 4, or 8 ohms. Providing stable current and that rich, iconic McIntosh sound.
Seemingly switching from the MC275, we get to the C22 Tube preamplifier, a match made in heaven. Giving you the performance of the much celebrated C70, but with the C22 recognition, this pre-amp comes equipped with 6 tubes that can be seen from the top of the piece, two balanced and three unbalanced inputs, along with a phono preamplifier equipped to handle either Moving Magnet or Moving Coil cartridges. Making it the perfect marriage between function and aesthetic.
Our source is the MT5 turntable. Engineered to the exact standards you would expect from McIntosh. Weighing in at 38lbs and feeling every ounce of it, this turntable is built for performance and vibration dampening. From the heavy plinth to the suspended platter, it provides crystal clear & detailed sound, making your vinyl collection sing like never before.
FAQs
What makes high-end speakers different?
High-end speakers differ in build quality, driver design, materials, and crossover engineering. Cabinet reinforcement and driver size also play a major role, allowing the speaker to reduce distortion and deliver a more accurate, immersive listening experience.
Do I need new wiring or power?
It depends on what you’re upgrading from and to. If you’re moving to more power-hungry speakers, an amplifier upgrade may be recommended. Replacing old or frayed wiring can also be beneficial, as new cables provide better contact and signal transfer, resulting in improved sound quality
How important is room acoustics?
Room acoustics can make or break a system. That’s why it’s important to consider not only speaker and amplifier characteristics, but also room treatments such as acoustic panels. Some integrated amplifiers even include built-in room correction, like Dirac Live found in NAD products, for added convenience.
What’s the typical investment range?
There’s no single answer, as it depends on how much someone listens to music and what level of performance they’re looking for. Systems can range from around $500 to well over $1.5 million. For a strong entry-level to high-performance system, most people can expect to invest between $2,000 and $10,000.
Can you build a system over time?
Absolutely. A great place to start is with an amplifier that includes Bluetooth or streaming capabilities and a pair of bookshelf speakers. From there, you can upgrade components over time as your needs and preferences evolve.
Can I bring my own music to demo?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own music. Most of our systems are equipped with CD players and turntables so you can hear your favorite recordings.
