HiFi Buys opened in the fall of 1977.
Back then, we had two locations, one in Madison and one on Nolensville Pike near what is now the Nashville Zoo. In the early days we focused on high-end stereos, VCRs, TVs, CD players and all types of audio gear. We did a bit of car stereo work with one install bay. We didn’t do home installation or deliveries; we were strictly retail.
Since then, we have evolved into four separate divisions.
We have a veteran retail sales floor staff and a cutting-edge custom home division.
Our single location offers us flexibility and efficiency that has permitted us to flourish while most stereo stores have closed nationwide. Many of our associates have been with us for over 30 years — to say we have experience would be an understatement. Our commitment to customer service and offering the absolute best products at the very best price will guide our future.

Our retail store has been at the same location with some of the same staff for over 45 years. One of the things that differentiates us from others is that our staff is passionate about what we do. They are professionals with a love for electronics, music, and helping clients fulfill their enjoyment in life. After all, the products we offer add value and pleasure to your life.
We have a large showroom with 6 sound rooms in which we display and stock the leading brands of equipment. We welcome and encourage music lovers and audiophiles to come in and immerse themselves in the experience. We offer a wide variety of equipment — so if you are just beginning your sound system/home theater, looking for a TV, or you are completing your dream sound system, you can demo and buy it at the best price with professional advice. We encourage and embolden our hands-on DIY customers to come in for diagnostics or design advice for home theater.
For your knowledge and comparison, we display Sony-Samsung-and LG HDTV’s. Our speaker selection is second to none. You can audition speakers from $99.00 to $350,000.00. Because we take tradeins, we have a used section which offers great products at rock-bottom prices.
