Part of NAD’s new CI Modular Series, the CI S1 is designed with minimal rack space requirements (1/3 width x 1U height) while offering virtually limitless audio content and an in-built audiophile-grade ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DAC. BluOS Enabled right out of the box, stream from over 20 natively integrated music services and access global internet radio, cast content from Bluetooth or Apple AirPlay2 devices, and physically connect to and distribute content from other digital or analogue devices. Manage which sources to play when and where, all through BluOS, or through any of the popular control systems with driver support integrated, including Control4, Crestron, URC, RTI, NICE, Lutron, and KNX. Monitor device status remotely via our broader ecosystem partner, Domotz.

Although the CS S1 is a single zone streamer, it offers extra flexibility via its Main Zone/Sub Zone configuration option where two pre-outs can feed the same stream to two amplified outputs, complete with separate volume controls. Designed with wall-mount keyholes, two styles of rack ears, and a tool-free interlocking in-rack design, and rubber feet for surface placement, it offers integrators ultimate use case versatility to deliver modern streaming solutions to any installation for any use case. The CI S1 is the easiest and most space-efficient way to add streaming, connectivity, and audio zone management to a new or existing installation.

The CI S1 has a comprehensive set of inputs and outputs available, ensuring that any source, whether cloud or direct, can be connected and streamed wherever the client wants it. With WiFi and ethernet, digital and analogue audio inputs with signal sensing, sub out, and assignable 12V trigger in and 12V trigger out, it offers integrators an unprecedented amount of flexibility in connectivity.

NAD® BluOS Streaming Amplifier Module

Part of NAD’s new CI Modular Series, the CI SA2-120 is designed with scalability, flexibility, and reliability in mind. With its minimal rack space requirements (1/3 width x 1U height), the CI SA2-120 still manages to pack in a 2 x 120W DirectDigital™ amplifier with built-in thermostatic cooling to drive air circulation and allow amplifier stacking in a rack. Add in the award-winning multi-room music management platform, BluOS, and it strikes the perfect balance between size and function.

The SA2-120 has a versatile amplifier platform which can be used in a 2 x 120 wpc stereo system or a 4 x 60 wpc configuration via the additional pair of outputs with Dynamic Load Management, determining the way the amplifier will distribute its power. Additionally, the device can be used in a Main Zone/Sub Zone configuration within BluOS, which adds independent volume control for the 2 pairs of speaker outputs, making it ideal for extended areas like a bedroom with ensuite.

Mount the CI SA2-120 to a wall or in a rack with the included keyholes, rack ears and interlocking in-rack connection design, or safely place on a finished surface using its rubber feet. Connect it to a multitude of signal-sensing inputs and outputs, including WiFi and ethernet connectivity, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, HDMI eARC, analogue and digital line ins, 2 x 4-pin snap-on Phoenix block speaker connectors, IR input, 12V output trigger, subwoofer out, and many more. Unleashing the power of BluOS® to its fullest potential, the CI 580 V2 BluOS Network Music Player combines four stereo zones into one compact 1U rack space. Available as a digital or analogue output, the CI 580 V2 will easily fit into many other existing distributed audio systems. Accessed through the BluOS Controller app, or one of the many supported CI control systems, multiple CI 580 V2s can be used  in conjunction with BluOS to provide up to 64 zones, with each zone having the capability to be grouped together in perfect sync, or play individual streams in different zones simultaneously. With support for locally stored libraries and some of the most popular music streaming services, BluOS integrates all your music sources into a single, easy-to-browse user interface. Integrated with Crestron, Control4 and RTI, the CI 580 V2 is also fully compatible with other BluOS Enabled devices, including select NAD products and those from sister brand, Bluesound.

A BluOS Controller app is available for mobile devices and desktop, and allows you to access, control and stream music playlists to multiple BluOS Enabled zones in the home using simple touch-screen commands.

The CI 580 can be integrated into a BluOS connected home, and deliver music streams to any zone you select instantaneously. By focusing on how to improve musical performance while providing a seamless network music experience, the CI 580 ensures that there are no skips or delays – even when streaming and controlling music from your mobile device. Analogue and digital inputs are also available to add a cable box or other non-network sources, and make them available and selectable in every zone. The CI 580 V2 also includes a system interrupt feature to allow for doorbells and fire alarms to be heard.

Redefining the Architecture of Hi-Fi Playback

As we move deeper into the 21st Century the way music is distributed and enjoyed continues to evolve away from physical media to streaming. It also has moved away from analog to digital. The C 658 has incorporated these fundamental truths to create an entirely new type of component that combines a Network Streamer, a state-of-the art DAC, and many aspects of the traditional Preamplifier into a single highly cost effective package. And thanks to NAD’s exclusive Modular Design Construction, it will keep pace with the latest technology, not yet introduced, but inevitably coming in the future. In fact, an optional HDMI 4k switcher module is available now allowing the best sound from any of the many HDMI sources available (like game consoles and video STBs). While the C 658 immediately replaces (or adds) your Streamer, DAC, and Preamp, it also adds many new features you may not be aware of, like a Bluetooth aptX HD transmitter to use with your wireless headphones. The highly flexible outputs allow for a true balanced connection to powered speakers or amplifiers. Single-ended connections for amplifiers and subwoofers are also provided and include an adjustable subwoofer crossover executed perfectly in the digital domain. A highly sophisticated MM Phono input is also included along with line inputs for legacy analog components.

Also on board is BluOS, the most sophisticated High Res streaming system available. BluOS natively supports over 15 streaming music services and indexing of over 250,000 tracks from local network sources. The C 658 becomes a node in the BluOS ecosystem allowing high res network streaming to 64 zones and control options for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac OS phones, tablets, and desk top devices. BluOS also supports all major smart home controllers and is available in a wide range of products making it easy to create a whole house audio system with the C 658 at its heart.

The C 658 is part of our Classic Series of components which have an enviable reputation for giving Music Lovers more enjoyment for less money. If you want a solid block of hand–crafted aluminum with gold plated accents you’ll need to look elsewhere. If you want state-of-the-art performance and features in a sturdy no-nonsense package then you have the right address.

Most NAD components have been High Res for 45 years with very wide bandwidth, low distortion, and ultra-low noise. We just never had High Res source material to play. With High Res digital recording and streaming, combined with advanced technology like MQA, record companies are opening their vaults and releasing Studio Master Quality recordings. MQA decoding is available through BluOS Streaming content. The C 658 is pure High Res from input to output and features the ESS Sabre 32bit DAC , one of the best performing DACs on the market today with its 118dB Dynamic Range and incredibly low jitter spec. All preamp functions are executed in the digital domain including the same wide range non-truncating digital volume control used in our Masters Series components. This offers an incredibly short analog signal path that, rather uniquely, is identical for all volume settings. Sophisticated active power supplies provide super clean voltages to all circuits to keep noise and distortion at the edge of measurability.

The C 658 is also the first NAD stereo component to feature Dirac Live room correction, the most sophisticated and effective room correction available. Dirac corrects the impulse response of your speakers, in addition to the frequency response of your room, for a truly transparent window into the musical performance.
